Sleep

Quick one tonight.  Feel like I have a million things to do before bed.

Q. isn’t the best sleeper and E. wasn’t either at this age so sleep deprivation is sort of expected at this stage.  It’s a totally different ball game though when you have 2 children.  You just never get caught up on sleep.  With just E., I could nap when he naps but I can’t do that anymore.  Typically, when E. is napping these days (from ~1-3pm), Q. isn’t napping.  He might go down for his afternoon nap ~2-2:30pm so that gives me a whopping 30mins to stuff cloth diapers, make dinner, prepare baby food, do laundry…and no time to nap!

So on the days after a horrible sleep (Q. can be up 2-3x a night), I’m a zombie by dinnertime.  That is why on a day after a GREAT sleep, I feel AMAZING!  Last night, I got 4 hours of consecutive sleep in a row.  Q. gave me from 1amish-5amish.  It’s all I need.  There must be something magical about these 4 hours.  Whatever it is, I don’t care.  I love how I feel after getting it.  Today, the sun was sunnier, the birds were chirpy-er, (the lady at Starbucks wasn’t so chirpy but I tried to look past that because I felt fantastic!) and I’m generally a much happier wife, daughter and most importantly, mother to my kiddos.

So today, I’m thankful for sleep.
